Asosasyon ng mga Residente ng Emergency Medicine sa Pilipinas (AREMP)
The Asosasyon ng mga Residente ng Emergency Medicine sa Pilipinas (AREMP) is the organization of residents training in emergency medicine and emergency medical services. The group was established in 2003 with only 3 hospital members (Makati Medical Center, Ospital ng Makati and St. Luke’s Medical Center). Recently, when the emergency medicine specialists were unified under the Philippine College of Emergency Medicine, the residents likewise felt the need to unify their ranks. To date it has members from the following training institutions for emergency medicine – Makati Medical Center, Ospital ng Makati, East Avenue Medical Center, Philippine General Hospital, Manila Doctors Hospital, St. Luke’s Medical Center, Our Lady of Perpetual Help (DALTA), Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center, De La Salle Medical Center and Pasig General Hospital).

As an emerging field of specialty, AREMP believes that the practice of emergency medicine will be shaped by its future members, thus it aspires to participate in the growth of the specialty. Today, AREMP has 137 active members and represented by 8 appointed officers. Current AREMP President, Dr. Dan Carpio plans to call for a change the name and logo of PAREM to represent the new united group. New officers had conducted bimonthly journal clubs instead of quarterly meetings, and an out-of-town lunch symposium and a two-day team building. Election of the new officers is set on December 2011.
In the coming years, we hope to receive a continuous support from AREMP Alumni, and that through its residents’ membership provided with promising jobs after residency.
